PCOO strengthens information campaign to empower Filipinos

ISABELA CITY, Basilan, Oct 04 (PIA) – The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) is strengthening its advocacy in providing correct and relevant information to empower Filipinos.

 

PCOO Secretary Martin M. Andanar in his video message, during the Simultaneous Launching of Barangayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery on September 30 said that correct information is very important to every Filipino to know different programs, projects and services being implemented by the government during the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

 


“Kaya’t puspusan ang pagsisikap ng Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) para maipaabot at maipalam sa inyo at sa lahat ng Filipino ang mga programa, aksyon at pagtugon na ginagawa ng gobyerno sa pamumuno ni Pangulong Duterte,” Sec. Andanar said.

 

At the start of COVID-19 pandemic in the country, PCOO launched its Laging Handa Network Briefing to serve as platform in giving opportunity to Local Chief Executives and youth leaders to discuss updates, programs, projects and policies in their area. The Laging Handa Network Briefing is aired from 8:00am to 9:00am daily, Monday to Friday.

 

The Laging Handa Public Briefing was also launched to provide Filipinos the updates from National Government Agencies and  from the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging and Infectious Diseases. During the program, video reports on government programs, projects and accomplishments were also aired. This is being aired live from Monday to Saturday at PTV4 Channel from 11:00am to 12:00nn.

 

These virtual programs were live-streamed at official Facebook pages of PCOO, PTV, PIA, Radyo Pilipinas and other media outfits.

 

The PCOO continuously produce COVID-19 related information by producing digital contents such as infomercials, video explainers, social cards and info graphics to keep the public informed on the government responses in this time of the pandemic.

 

To disseminate right information regarding the Pamana ng Pagbabago which are the legacy of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, PCOO launched the Duterte Legacy Campaign wherein PCOO through Secretary Martin Andanar partnered with the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters sa Pilipinas (KBP) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) to facilitate his guesting in different radio stations and discusses the Duterte Legacy.

 

Recently, the PCOO in partnership with the PNP, DILG, PIA and other national government agencies launched the Barangayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery  to reach the grassroot.

 

“We continuously see the importance of giving truthful information across every Filipino. This is because the right information can empower Filipinos, uphold the integrity of one’s rights and can save lives especially in our current pandemic situation,” Sec. Andanar stressed.
