ZAMBOANGA CITY, Sept 30 (PIA) -- The Barangayanihan Caravan is an offshoot of the Duterte Legacy campaign that is simultaneously conducted on Thursday nationwide, aimed at continuing the present government programs and services for the next administration.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s administration has established different government programs and services that the Filipino people must see the need to sustain its implementation. Among these programs are the Build-Build-Build program, Malasakit center, and Free Education.

In a recent radio interview, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin A. Andanar emphasized that most of the projects and programs are in the General Appropriations Act, “meaning kahit anong gagawin ng susunod na administrasyon talagang masusunod po ito at maipagpapatuloy.”

The new laws and policies are clarified for the complete information of the people. And the provision of basic services for the participants and beneficiaries will also be carried out for smooth and easy access of government services.

In Zamboanga Peninsula region, the Barangayanihan Caravan is held at the Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office grounds, Dipolog City.

The activity ensures all government employees to comply and perform their duties as public servants to the best of their abilities with honesty, enthusiasm, and always instill that a “public office is a public trust.”

Agencies who are participating include the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Social Security System, Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
