PCOO: Tax Reform Law eases burdens of low income earners, taxpayers in PH

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Oct 08 (PIA) -- Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin A. Andanar said that tax reform law signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte lessened the struggles of low income earners and taxpayers nationwide.

“As a result, those who receive salaries P20,000 and below, no longer pay income tax,” said PCOO Chief Andanar during his radio interview over a local radio station in Zamboanga Sibugay Province today, October 08.

The Secretary also emphasized that the current tax reform program of President Duterte will help the nation’s economy and is pro-poor as workers can “take home a bigger percentage of their salaries.”

“It is progressive, fairer and more equitable to all taxpayers,” the communications chief added.

The Duterte Legacy Communications Campaign is important because the government needs to report its accomplishments to the 109M Filipino-stakeholders and their outlays from the taxpayer’s money.

PCOO also underscored the free tertiary education program where 1.6-M students have benefited from different states, colleges, and universities around the country.

“They no longer pay their tuition in school and this should be buoyed by the next leaders of the government because this is for Filipinos,” the Secretary concluded. (NBE/EDT/JRA/PIA9-Zamboanga City/Photo Courtesy of Sec. Martin Andanar FB Page)
