PCOO Chief Andanar says information is key to empower communities

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Sept. 13 (PIA) – Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar continue to spread information on government programs through radio guesting in different provinces.


During his live interview with NRK DXNH FM in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi he emphasized the importance of information dissemination to let the public know of the government services like free tertiary education, the Malasakit Center, free irrigation for farmers, and many more.




“It is important for the public to know about the accomplishments of President Duterte so they are informed and will be able to avail of government services,” Sec. Andanar added.


One of the most availed government services is the Malasakit Center. More than 2-million Filipinos benefited from free medical assistance championed by Senator Bong Go as reported by Sec. Andanar.  “More people must know about the Malasakit Center so they can avail of these free services,” he said.


PCOO have been continuously magnifying and disseminating the policies and the achievements of the Duterte administration throughout its term through varying facets of public service.


Given the COVID-19 pandemic, it is through going digital that media and information operations would be able to reach the majority of the nation. Sec. Andanar said that government social media platforms have been noticeable increasing audience reach, nevertheless he stresses the importance of the private media. “It is only by partnering with private media stations can we  increase our audience reach in informing the public about the government programs,” he added.
