ZAMBOANGA CITY, Sept. 14 (PIA) -- 100 thousand doses of vaccines have already been utilized in the inoculation of qualified individuals in Sulu Province as local folks there are receptive of the COVID19 vaccine.

Sulu Governor Abdusakur M. Tan said during the Network Briefing News hosted by Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin M. Andanar, “maganda ang pagbabakuna dito sa amin sa Sulu, mga tao receptive, 'di mo na sila kailangang pilitin, basta nakita nila, masaya sila,” he said.

He said, health teams are preparing for another round of inoculation, “may extra pa tayong 66 thousand (vaccines),  baka pupunta tayo sa mga eskwelahan para magbakuna.”

Governor Tan was candid to speak of the preference to have the people in island-municipalities inoculated with single-dose vaccines giving consideration to the distance and the difficulty to reach the place and other dynamics of the area.

Meanwhile, Gov. Tan informed that he is waiting for the arrival of the testing machine as promised by Secretary Carlito G. Galvez, Jr. of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process (OPAPP) and the Government’s Vaccine Czar, for the operationalization of their Molecular Laboratory.

“Inaantay natin ang pagdating ng testing machine, sana ipadala na Sec. Galvez, para di na mahirapan tayo mag antay ng swab o saliva test results na mula  pa Zamboanga City,” he said.

Sulu Province presently has 11 active cases of COVID-19. Total confirmed cases are 684 with 649 recoveries and 24 deaths.  (NBE/JPA/ PIA Zamboanga Sibugay)
