Zambo records less individuals get side effects after vaccination

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Sept 21 (PIA) -- Zamboanga City Health Office (ZCHO) confirmed that less than 1% of individuals who received their COVID-19 vaccines have experienced adverse effects and now, fully recovered.

“Of the 261,147 vaccinated Zamboangueรฑos, 451 or 0.17% experienced mild adverse effects following immunization,” City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite said during the city’s COVID-19 virtual presser held online, recently.

“All have made full recoveries,” the health officer added.

Since vaccination roll-out began last March 2021, the city recorded 410 cases of vaccine breakthrough infections or persons get infected with the COVID-19 disease, of which 178 cases were those who had their first vaccine shot and 232 cases were fully vaccinated.

“Those infected individuals experienced only mild symptoms and fully recovered,” Dr. Miravite affirmed.

The Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also reminded that breakthrough infection cases can still occur in “small percentage of fully vaccinated individuals but less severe.”

“Again, all vaccines work regardless of the brand,” Dr. Miravite said.

The city remains persistent in advocating the COVID-19 vaccination campaign of the sovereignty and the local inter-agency tasks force here, continues to inform the communities at the grassroots level, that available vaccines are totally safe and efficient on outweighing the risks of COVID-19 infections.
