Mayor Manuel Saladaga of Mahayag town, guest of the Laging Handa Networking Briefing hosted by PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar, appealed to DOH-9 for an increase in the COVID-19 vaccine allocation in their town.

"We have a very eager population to get vaccinated but the supply is not enough," he said.

Dr. Brilliantes said vaccines such as Pfizer, Moderna and Astrazeneca, among others will be the ones soon available.

In response to the increasing number of COVID-19 active cases in Zamboanga del Sur province, Mayor Saladaga together with his barangay officials are implementing stricter protocols particularly in the entry and exit points of their municipality.

"We are monitoring the barangays, roaming around especially those highly populated areas to know if they are following the health protocols we are imposing," he said.

He also shared they have installed tents to shelter their Barangay Tanods who are making extra effort to keep the municipality safe and further control the spread of COVID-19. (RVC/EDT/PIA9-Zamboanga del Norte)
