ZAMBOANGA CITY, Oct 11 (PIA) -- The Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Mahayag town in Zamboanga Del Sur province, expressed their support on the government’s anti-terrorism campaign to help realize desirable peace and order in Zamboanga Peninsula region.

The creation of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo (KKDAT) per municipality in ZamboSur has been crucial in serving as the voice of the young people in response to ending local communist terrorism.

“SK officials of 29 barangays here (Mahayag town) through the KKDAT, continues to share information and conduct programs to address violence, terrorism and illegal drugs among youth,” said SK Fed President Jan Stefan Mantos during her interview with PCOO Secretary Martin A. Andanar in Laging Handa Network Briefing online today, October 11.

SK President Mantos also emphasized that terrorism recruitments and activities of the left groups among young people “should stop and act on it.”

Moreover, SK President Mantos encouraged the 29 Barangay SK Officials in Mahayag town to provide education assistance to modular and online learners as well as to give special awards to those students with excellent General Passing Average (GPA).

The SK Fed will also carry out the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to frontliners for their safety and protection while doing their heroic jobs.

“It is one of our ways as youth to let the frontliners know that we care and appreciate their job at this current time of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mantos said. (RVC/EDT/JRA/PIA9-Zamboanga City)
