ZAMBOANGA CITY, Oct 15 (PIA) -- Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin A. Andanar affirmed that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte intensified the campaign for Freedom of Information in the country to a more transparent government.

To note, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte established the Executive Order No. 2: Freedom of Information (FOI) under PCOO that “opened the book of the government making it more transparent for the benefits of the Filipinos,” Sec. Andanar said during his interview over a local radio station in Sulu on October 15.

The current anti-corruption campaigns also strengthened the anti-red tape act and improved the government’s “ease of doing business” under President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s term.

“Ang ating ease of doing business ay nag-improved from rank 124th to 94th now because of PRRD’s efforts to combat corruption in our country,” Sec. Andanar added.

Moreover, other major commitments of the President to solve long-time conflicts of the country such as peace and order, law and order as well as the poverty alleviation, were able to address by the current administration and had good results.

“There are more than 19,000 NPAs surrendered; 22,000 barangays were now drug-cleared; the crime volume rate decreased to 64%; 6.5 million jobs were given to the Filipinos and many more,” Sec Andanar said.

To date, the Duterte Legacy campaign of the government continues to roll-out throughout the country to inform the public about the achievements and efforts of the government under PRRD’s entire term.

“Ito ay responsibilidad ng pamahalaan na i-report ang mga developments at bagong polisiya na pinirmahan ni Pangulong Duterte,” communications chief disclosed. (RVC/JRA/PIA9-Zamboanga City)
