“There is life after cancer,” she stressed.

The Gender and Development Section of the Office of the City Mayor through Local Council of Women (LCW) and Mindanao Breast Cancer Support and Empowerment Association (MBCSEA) spearheaded various activities to remind people from around the world that we are uniting as one in the fight against Breast Cancer.

The campaign on Breast Cancer Awareness Month or ”Pink October” aims to increase awareness and promote regular screening and early detection of breast cancer.

Moreover, the City Government urged everyone especially friends, sisters, mothers and all family and relatives during this time of pandemic to do self-breast examination regularly and seek early consultation and or teleconsultation for with physicians/oncologists for further assessment.

In line with the campaign, the City Government also encouraged all city government employees and other offices to wear anything pink every Fridays of October. (RVC/EDT/MLE/PIA9-Zamboanga City)
